Busy Body? No!
For we hear that there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working at all, but are busybodies (2Thess.3.11).
To be a busy body is to be an unpaid news carrier. It means to be a human radio with no battery, that specializes in other people’s matter. A busy body is someone who has refused to work productively but has time to engage in irrelevant conversations. It is called a disorderly walk when a person eats the bread of idleness but comfortable enough to contribute to every conversation going on in the community. You are not called to meddle in other people’s affairs. To mind your business is a major decision you will have to take to enjoy peace of mind and focus.
For every vice, there is an antidote. To be hard working and productive will get you out of the league of the busy body idle individuals. Work brings a sense of focus and direction. It is a means to be productive and also earn a living. Failure to choose what to do with your time will open up the opportunity for distractions to swerve you off your course in life. It requires diligence to maintain focus. However, do not permit busy bodies around you. They are wasters of time and destiny. Not only will they poison your mind about people, they will also gossip about you like they did to others.
…and besides they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house, and not only idle but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not (1Tim.5.13).
The clear sign of these people is that they have more than enough time to move around from house to house, on Whatsapp, and Social media offering hot news about others. Avoid such people. Not every issue you should listen to, so you don’t corrupt your mind. You ear is the gateway to your mind. Guard it jealously. Selah!
