SACRIFICE OF LIPS

Heb. 13:15. Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise–the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.

Praise is what we give to God for the things He has done for us. Our hearts burst out in rejoicing as we share about his faithfulness and sing. It gladdens our hearts to praise Him.
But what happens when things are not going as we expect? We get worried. We are discouraged. We wear sad looks. Praise and sacrifice may seem different, but in the spirit realm, they are same. Do you praise God when things are not going the way you expect?

Offering sacrifice of praise to God is praising him continually irrespective of the circumstances. It is the fruit our lips must bear. God dwells in the praises of his people.

Hear David,
“No, but I will surely buy it from you for a price; nor will I offer burnt offerings to the LORD my God with that which costs me nothing.” So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver”(2Sam. 24:24).

What is your praise costing you? If you only praise God when it is convenient then where is the sacrifice? Praise in the morning. Praise in the noontime. Praise at night season when all hope seems lost.

Offer sacrifice of praise. It is the fruit of your lips. Lord, I choose to praise you!
